Abstract:

Bazaars are among the few historical buildings that still continue to operate. The Bazaar in a city has been important not only from economic aspects but also from cultural and social aspects. Today, the empty space of such urban spaces, which can become a lasting space by creating a sense of belonging and peace, while meeting the needs of today's people, is felt very much. Sound is one of the main factors in creating memories in the human mind. In order to investigate the role of sound in the traditional architecture of Iran, a research was conducted in the Vakil Bazzar of Shiraz. The final goal of this research is to investigate the quantitative and qualitative conditions of the sound using sound meter software in the Vakil Bazzar of Shiraz. The permissible level of noise pollution in urban spaces is 60 decibels based on the resolution of the Supreme Council of Environmental Protection of Iran for commercial areas. The results of this research indicate that in the quietest conditions, the noise pollution for at least 33% of the Bazzar space is higher than the maximum allowed amount of noise pollution. How to improve the sound conditions in Vakil Bazzar, such as reducing noise by creating a masking sound source, creating a pond and a fountain, is one of the most important results of this research.

Abstract:

In countries like Ethiopia, the textile industries are facing a big problem of sound noise pollution. In these countries, the industrial hearing conservation program is not yet clearly developed. Thus, characterizing excessive noise pollutions in textile industries have been the aim of this research project and Kombolcha Textile Mill (KTM) is chosen as the case study. The study is concerned with noise exposure and its characteristics at the different section of the textile mill. Before the actual excessive noise level measurements are collected in the textile mill, the main areas where measurements are done have to be identified. This is done by prior physical observation and A-Weighted time-averaged sound pressure levels (L_Aeq) survey. More than one hundred walkthrough measurement points are done inside the textile mill. These data are analyzed using MATLAB software packages. Based on our analysis, the spinning and the weaving sections of the mills with its unit processes are identified as potential noise pollution in the factory. On these sections, the measurements are done for 4– 5 h/d. The instrument used for measurements is a precision integrated portable professional sound level meter. The findings reveal that the KTM employees work in hazardous environments above 90 dB, which is the recommended safe limit of noise in the working environment for 8 h used in international standard. As a result, engineering and administration programs which include different methods of how to control the problem has been recommended for conserving hearing at the KTM.

Abstract:

Introduction: Noise pollution is a significant factor impacting employee health. A large number of employees face noise problems in their work or life. Therefore, this study sought to examine the noise condition in industrial workshops where the worker population of less than 20 individuals. Materials and Methods: This descriptive-cross-sectional research was carried out in 500 small industrial workshops, each with fewer than 20 employees, comprising automotive service workshops, turning operations, plastic industries, door and window manufacturing, woodworking, CNC facilities, metalworking industries, and welding workshops. The chosen workshops were selected from a pool of 1000 available workshops through simple random sampling. Initially, the workshop gathered information regarding the maintenance condition of the devices, the noise type, and the device’s response time. workshop, including the maintenance status of the devices, the type of noise, and the response speed of the device, was recorded. Subsequently, a straightforward TES52A sound level meter was utilized to measure the sound. Results: The sound measurement findings indicated that 63.2 percent of the workshops exhibited a desirable sound level. The minimum, maximum, mean and standard deviation of the sound were 45, 105 and 79 ± 11.3 dB, respectively. 82.8% of the workers in the workshops exposed to sound did not utilize personal protective equipment. The maximum sound intensity was recorded in the occupational categories of door and window manufacturing (90.7 dB) and woodworking (88.7 dB). Additionally, the Spearman correlation coefficient for the equivalent sound level and workshop volume was 0.315 and statistically significant (P<0.001). Conclusion: The findings indicate that the noise level in jobs like door and window manufacturing and woodworking exceeds the allowable limit, and the majority of employees do not utilize hearing protection devices. Additionally, the dimensions of the workshop and the number of individuals working in each workshop were recognized as factors affecting the equivalent sound level.

Abstract:

The word “Cycle” (Dowr in Persian) has been used in the old prosody, but cyclic meter has been discussed anymore. Cyclic meters, in modern prosody, refers to a group of intermitted-basis meters that standing a long syllable instead of stretched syllable at the end of half-hemistich makes no disorder in the meter, and the poet is allowed to use a stretched syllable in half-hemistich of these meters instead of a long syllable. The definition of cyclic meter and its circumstances have been always controversial between experts. Cycle in music and old prosody, explanation of cyclic meters circumstances, a critical analysis of cyclic meters features and their differences with intermitted-basis meters are being studied in present paper. The definition of "periodicity" and "the silence time in half-hemistich" for the meters in Persian poetry and the origin of poetic license will subsequently be reviewed and the distinction between cyclic and non-cyclic prosodies will be discussed on the basis of these two features.

Abstract:

In Islamic civilization, rhetoric is the product of a great attempt to find out the secrets of Quranic language; nevertheless, the achievements of such studies have been mechanically applied to Persian which, compared to Arabic, has a different linguistic system and literary conventions. This approach has brought about problems in defining literary terms, internal rhythm being one of them. This article, through comparing the classical and modern understandings of internal rhythm, and also by considering the history of studies on this concept, examines the quality of meter in internal rhythm.

Abstract:

Noise pollution is one of the most important physically harmful factors in work environments in developed and developing countries. In this study, the measurement of sound emission in the cutting process of Iranian native woods and the ergonomic evaluation of the use of protective earphones have been investigated. Three wood species of alder, sycamore, and hornbeam with equilibrium moisture of 12% and Folder Remote Cutting Machine was used to evaluate the level of noise pollution in the machining process. Also, a digital sound level meter (Benetech GM1356) was used to evaluate the sound. The results showed that with increasing the specific gravity of wood, the amount of sound emission increased; that the highest frequency of sound was observed in alder wood. The results showed that in general, with increasing parameters such as the number of blade rotations, kerf, blade diameter, feed rate, use of the scoring blade, and increasing the service life of the saw blade, the number of sound emission increases. However, the use of saw blades with more teeth saw blades with expansion slot, and the use of rip fence in the wood cutting process reduced sound emission. Also, the results showed that the use of protective earphones is very useful in noise pollution and reduces the amount of sound emission up to 38 decibels. Based on the findings of this study, it can be concluded that the amount of wood density changes in native species of Iran is one of the main factors in the amount of sound emission and the use of protective earphones reduces possible damage due to noise pollution in the cutting process.

Abstract:

In this project the effects of parameters such as increasing height and distance from hard shoulder on Leq, LNP and dissatisfactory factor in sheykh Fazlollah Noori Freeway were investigated and a relation between these parameters was established.LNp was calculated through Leq, and dissatisfaction factor was defined according to local questioning. In this study the variation of traffic noise due to increasing height and distance from hard shoulder were measured in Sheykh Fazlollah Noori free way of Tehran. In this cross sectional study the residential zoos were recognized and the sound pressure levels were measured in different lights. The results showed that with increasing height the level of Leq is decreased, 3.48dB decrease in Leq per 3 meters rise in height. Then the isosonic curves for the whole route were drawn. On the other hand for every 15 meters in increasing distance from hard shoulderLeq decreases 1.5dB, there was no statistically significant relation between Leq, LNp, and dissatisfaction factor.
